what we do

We provide assistance in creating or updating your CV or covering letters for jobs you wish to apply for. Visitors can make use of our laptops with free WiFi for job searching and we have a printer that you can use. Or, if preferable , we’re happy to help you in using your own IT equipment including smartphones or tablets. Our volunteers will help you with your job searching on line and guide you to a wealth of job sites.

We can provide access to a wide range of partner organisations including telephone access direct to Citizens Advice on a Thursday morning and we have regular visits when Covid safe from Exeter Community Energy, South West Water and East Devon District Council.

On offer at Axminster Job Club is also a weekly rummage box of food goodies donated from local supermarkets. For those in greater need we can supply frozen meals courtesy of Nourish, have access to food hampers and we can make referrals to the local food bank.

If you need help with Universal Credits we can do that too – whether it is making a new application or helping you to update your journal or contact your work coach. Or if you need to access other benefits, including council tax, we can point you in the right direction.

If you are interested in volunteering opportunities or work experience we can help you find employers who would be able to offer this for you.

Axminster Job Club provides a free, relaxed and friendly environment for people in the local area who are looking for employment. Come along and chat with our volunteers about what support and help you would like from us. We are at Pippins Community Centre every Thursday morning from 9am till noon and would love to chat to you about how we can help.
